Seabirds & Whale Tails Cruise
Sponsored by
New England Coastal Wildlife Alliance - NECWA & OceanQuest
Join wildlife experts such as David Clapp, of Natural History Services, Wayne Petersen of Massachusetts Audubon Society, and Dr. John Jahoda, from Bridgewater State College, as they head offshore to view seabirds, whales, seals, and large coastal pelagic fish like basking sharks that are found in the waters off Cape Cod.
Leave from Plymouth Harbor aboard the "Tails of the Sea", whale watching vessel operated by Captain John Boats. Meet at the Town Pier in Plymouth Harbor at 7:30 A.M. to check in. Cruise leaves at 8 A.M. and returns by 6 P.M. that evening. Pre-order a Bag Lunch or bring your own food and drink but please no alcohol or any items in glass containers. You can purchase a variety of hot and cold "home-made" foods from the galley and all proceeds support our non-profit marine education organizations.
Offshore Activities Include:
Chumming for seabirds
Plankton collection using a plankton net and examination using onboard microscopes
Free onboard raffle where you could win a nature gift including field guides, wildlife DVDs and CDs, bird feeders, hand-made fish-print sweatshirts, NEBShark clothing and more. If you wish to donate an item to the raffle event, bring it with you the day of sailing and we will add it to our collection.
